Greetings:
Here is information about a talk by Florence Nightingale's biographer, at a Chicago bookstore on July 10.
Wednesday, July 10
7:30 PM
Dr. Val Webb author of FLORENCE NIGHTINGALE: THE MAKING OF A RADICAL THEOLOGIAN, will discuss the fascinating life and little-known achievements of Florence Nightingale, looking beyond the "Lady with the Lamp" image to reveal a reformer, feminist, activist-and theologian.
Women & Children First Bookstore, 5233 N. Clark Street, Chicago. Free 773-769-9299.
Best regards,
Kelly Hughes

As someone interested in history, it sounds like it would be interesting but I have to work that night and don't live in Chicago.
I will check out the book, though, as I know Flo was not the gentle kind "Lady with the Lamp" so many people imagine her to be.
