Hey there!

Baby nurse here with some questions. I just got my ADN/RN last January (Almost a year old, time flies) and I've been an LPN/LVN working in geriatrics three years prior.

After graduating I got a job in our local ED and I was a very nervous new nurse but almost being in it for a year now I'm wondering if the ED is really for me. My mental health was not the best to begin with (hx of depression, unmedicated) and it has really dropped in the past few months now that I'm getting used to running codes, assisting intubating, and so on and not to mention some personal issues with our staffing.

I was wondering about doing an internal transfer at my hospital and I had a few interests. I was wondering if anyone could provide insights on OR, Dialysis, or maybe even Urgent Care nursing. I don't feel as though floor life is for me, I'm an acute care get them in and get them going type (So picky, I know).

anyone that can provide some info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

I can't really give you advice on the other areas (I do medsurg), but you could read through the threads in the different specialties (under the Specialties tab). There are probably threads asking similar questions.
