Hello All!

I am an RN with my ASN, and 1.5 years emergency room experience as well as traingin in telemetry and rehab. I was wondering if anyone knew of a position working from home maybe part-time. I just had a baby and would like more options when it comes to bringing home a paycheck.....thanks so much!

Specializes in ER, Outpatient PACU and School Nursing.

maybe telephone triage?

Specializes in Rural Health.

Have a friend from NS that got a job recently doing work comp claims from home. She has to travel about 4-8 hours a week but a majority of her work is actually done from home via the internet and then phone calls to various people.

I have no idea how she found the job - she had 10 years of working for an ortho doctor who got her the job when she graduated.

I just had a baby too and would give anything to be able to work from home. Right now I am working a private duty job a couple of nights a week where I'm welcome to bring my baby but I'm worried about the future.

Congratulations on your new babies;), The good news is there are more and more nurses working from home all the time. Insurance companies and health systems are realizing the value of nursing in Disease management, telephone triage, workman's comp, both for high quality patient education and cost containment. I've worked in telephone triage for abotu 8 years and never want to darken the door of a nursing facility again. Check the telephone triage thread I think there are some TT companies mentioned in the posts. good luck

I agree -- I think telephone triage is the way to go. If there is an insurance company based near you, you could apply for a position with them. I recently applied for a job with United health group and my main motivation was to avoid putting my little one in daycare. If I'm offered the position, I will be working evenings and w/e only and after 90 days I can transition to working from home. This will work perfectly with my dh M-F 9-5 job.

Feel free to PM me if you have further questions or would like to chat!

Congrats to both of you too!
