Those of you out there who feel like you work in a hospital where the staffing is really good (and consistent), as well as pay, benefits and scheduling, please share. What is the name of the hospital/City?

There is a good chance that we may be moving due to hubbies job situation and we are keeping all options and possibilities open. :)

Hey everyone, I have a nursing book that lists all the current Magnet Hospitals in the US. ...

Great Thread indeed, and mounds of useful info for us!

Thanks a bunch!!!!! :)

I work at a hospital striving for magnet status, and so far I just don't see that they'll ever make it because the nurses are treated like crap where I work. Patients are believed over nurses, lots of nurses are quitting and leaving the hospital or transferring units, and the whole place is in chaos all the time. So if this is what being a magnet hospital is all about...I'd prefer not to work at a magnet hospital.

I work at a magnet hospital, and it just means we look good on paper. We still have problems with staffing, etc. But it is a compliment that we are able to rise above that and be a little excellent sometimes.

BTW, were you always this down on nursing. Seems lately you are. I guess I never noticed before. This is not a criticism because you are part of the solution as I've noticed in your posts. You are striving to make things better for nurses. Just asking if you've changed recently or always felt this way.

I used to work for one of the hospitals on that Magnet list. I laugh everytime I think about them being a Magnet hospital. All I can say is, "don't do it!" PM me if you care to know which hospital on the list to stay away from.
