Anyone else have a second job?

Nurses General Nursing

Bear with me here - I'm in my 20's and I've been a nurse for about 3 1/2 years. I'm single, own my own home, live alone (with my two puppies) and work 12's on the night shift. I'm looking for advice on another source of income.

I stay up all night before each upcoming shift to easily transition. I just sit there twirling my thumbs most nights trying my best not to fall asleep. There's only so much I can entertain myself with in the middle of the night. I don't necessarily NEED extra income, but why not use my time wisely and make money? I'm looking for suggestions on any online opportunities you've heard of or know about. There can be some sketchy sites out there to make money from so any personal experience would be appreciated! Or even call jobs or something of that nature.

I have a second job with a hospital. I work 2 12's on the weekend, and get paid for 36. It means 5 12's per week, but what can I say, I am a glutton for punishment.

I worked for a insurance agency that always needed nurses in call to help arrange pt transport to I network hospitals. It's a lot of "what's going on with the pt?" I'd get report and then badger our doctors to see who would accept, then work on finding a bed at that hospital that the doc was affiliated with. It was a pain, but you might be able to find something on call or per diem doing that. :)
