Any Woodhull (NYC) Nurses?

Nurses General Nursing

Hi there,

I'm a student nurse finishing up my last semester at BMCC and hoping to take the NCLEX in July as an ADN. My goal is to hopefully get a job as an RN while earning my BSN (most likely the RN to BSN program at Hunter) - but I'd really like to work in the field first for a semester before going back to school so I haven't officially registered yet.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure I'll be selected for this externship program at Woodhull this summer and I obviously would love to be offered a job there afterward. From what I hear, sometimes this happens, even if it's months later, but others have told me that an externship doesn't put you at any advantage to get a job there in the future. Any insight on this would be very helpful - are there any RNs on this board who work at Woodhull and got in via an externship?

Also, I know I'm getting ahead of myself here, but what do you like/dislike about working at Woodhull? If you don't mind, I'd love details on starting salary, benefits and tuition reimbursement... the HHC website is pretty vague.

Lastly, I don't believe Woodhull has magnet status, but I wasn't sure about the likelihood of getting in with an ADN as opposed to a BSN. Anyone work there as a current RN ADN?

Sorry for all the questions, but hopefully someone can answer at least one!

Many thanks in adavance!
