    First of all, I agree that there is no dumb questions.
    You need to follow your heart and go for your dreams.
    Try not to pay attention to folks who make "wise-type" comments and most of all, keep your own council until you are truly established.
    There are some folks who are jealous of those who seem to be suceeding in life.

    I was rejected by a state university twice when applying for the nursing program. I finally decided to go to a local community college. When I applied I was already an LPN, had a Bachelors in Philosophy and Psychology, as well as a masters in History and a license to teach elementary school k-6. I have a long and positive work history along with impecable references (included a PhD Nurse who taught at the college I was applying to). The unfortunate fact is that there are just too many applicants for very few spots in most places. I'm told it helps to take classes as a nonmatriculated student in the school you want to attend - tends to bump you up on the list I guess. I consider myself to be quite accomplished educationally, not dumb by any means, and was rejected twice.
