General Biology over the summer?

Published

I'm fixing to begin my second semester of pre reqs, last semester I took ap1, stats, english1, and music. This semester I'm taking ap2, english2, physc, public speaking, and computer apps. Was going to pair micro and reg bio together but can't. I need to take general biology first. How hard is it and the lab? It is a four week course 4 days a week lecture and 2 days a week also lab. Should I go for it?

General Biology was not hard at all to me. I took it with A&P 1, English comp 2, general psychology, & I did great. Biology is basically the study of living things so I was very interested in it. It is not boring at all. I love genetics, mitosis, meiosis, genotypes, phenotypes, and the cell of course. You'll do great! Go for it!

Bio isn't bad. There is a lot of info though, so it depends on whether or not you are able to retain information. You will be learning all knew terminology. The bio book is usually pretty think. Bio lab is actually fun. You get to grow, make, identify stuff. Maybe disect a few things. Lecture kind of went on and on. The only thing I would say is Bio with a bunch of other classes can be somewhat difficult. I think I took Bio with 4 other classes and it kinda sucked.

Thank you for the replys. Really want to keep from doubling up on sciences so I can really focus and not be overloaded. Going to call Monday to talk to my advisor and make sure my financial aid would pay for it and then register. It would be my only class this summer.

I say take it. It'll be a breeze especially if you've already completed your a & p.

Thank you for the replys, I registered for the class hope I can do well!

I'll agree that it will be super easy given your past experience in science. For me, I got a B in general bio and I never studied and just showed up for the tests. (Not that I suggest this method, I was working full time and taking 16 credits!) Go for it!
