Gender of Chief of Staff

I read an announcement the other day that our hospital was getting it's first female chief of staff. That to me seems so weird, with so many female MDs. It's odd because our our Chief Executive Officer is female.

We are also getting our first male Vice President of Nursing.

I know people are people and it's only their ability to do their job that matters, but it just seems odd to me. (Maybe too much carbs from dinner has my brain thinking overtime. LOL)
