GCU (Grand Canyon University) Spring 2019 Applicants

Published

Hi guys/gals and hopeful readers, i have applied to GCU BSN spring 2019 program with a nursing gpa 3.7, overall gpa 3.18 and Hesi score of 88%. My A&P score on Hesi is 80% (some people say that is what they look at).

I was just interested in information that you might have regarding your chances, and hopefully contrast our chances. Please share your scores and opinions if comfortable.

Thanks.

Hello,

I also applied for Spring 2019 to get into GCU's BSN nursing program. My GPA is 3.87 and I got a 92 overall on the Hesi (96 on the A&P, a 94 in Math, and a 91 in English/Grammar). I have gone to advisors on campus about three times so far and they usually are not prone to say anything about your likelihood of getting in; however I was able to get some statistics on those accepted this past fall. The average acceptance GPA fall of 18 was 3.7 with average cumulative hesi was arround 90 (A&P 88, 90 in math, 88 in grammar) I also have heard that a high A&P is very helpful. Additionally your GPA is weighted as 40% of the battle in them considering you (they only look at and consider the grades that are required in the prerequisite courses). Also from what I heard fall applications can be more competitive than the spring (My guess is because those that don't make it in fall often redo the hesi and reapply for spring). You are well above the minimum requirements so I hope you get in. Is this your first time applying?

First, thank you for responding and sharing. This is my first time applying. thank you for the best wishes, i wish you well as well. I applied for the accelerated program, but at this stage i just hope to get in.

Have you completed all your prereqs? i am currently finishing up my last.

I also am finishing up my last two prerequisites (Developmental Psychology and Christian Worldview). I am shooting for the accelerated program too. Which classes are you working on?

i am currently doing patho. the wait is nerve wrecking, i also understand that they do not accept anymore transfers straight into the program. During your inquiries did you manage to discover how many applicant are applying and how many spots are available.

I agree I am nervous too. They don't accept any more transfer students, you are right. Last year there were 140 spots. I am not sure if this year is the same or not. They don't have the number of applicants until later because people will literally be applying up until the deadline.

lets join hands and pray brother.

Anyone else nervous? Anyone else apply? Please feel free to pose scores and grades! We are all in this together.

Do you know when the emails or letter are gonna be rolling out by any chance.

They get emailed out today. I got my acceptance email at 5:24pm. Main campus fast track!

Congratulations, I did not recieve a denial or approval email

Did you receive it on the 16th of October?
