Hi there! :) I am also curious about how the renewing of accreditation works, I am going to ask and if I find out anything I'll post it here. I just had a meeting with an advisor from Galen yesterday. I honestly think they're going to be fine and will remain accredited though because HCA Healthcare just bought Galen, I don't know if you know about them but HCA owns a loooot of hospitals around the nation, they also own two other nursing schools so I don't think they would invest in a school that wasn't reputable.

The AACN website still shows that an evaluation is supposed to take place in Fall 2020. From what I remember seeing on Galen’s website, I think the site visit is this week or next week so I’m guessing they’ll provide an update in like a month or so cause the AACN website shows that after the eval it takes about 30 days for them to update their findings.

Awesome! Thanks for the info ? I’ll be starting the BSN program in October, I’m hoping the renewal happens. Like you mentioned though they’re owned by HCA so I’m sure it will.

I think everything will be okay but I totally get you, I just want to see it in writing already that they passed ? OMG that’s so soon, good luck! Do you remember how long it took for you to be notified of your acceptance after you submitted your application? I’m planning to start in April so I’m sure they’re focusing more on students that are starting soon but I just want to get that acceptance already.

Thank you! I’m so excited to start. I was supposed to start last quarter but had issues with FAFSA and ended up missing the registration deadline. But I basically completed all of my pre-reqs so I’ll hopefully be done in no time :)
I got my acceptance pretty much right after Galen received my passing score for the TEAS. Have you already taken yours?

Time flies by, you’re gonna be done before you know it ? are you doing the BSN?
Okay in that case I might be getting it soon. The have my TEAS score already, the only thing that was taking a while was evaluating all the classes I’m trying to transfer over since I’m coming from California, they finished that a few days ago so hopefully I’ll get the acceptance soon. I can’t wait to start!

Hi!
Im currently in the process of deciding whether or not to attend Galen college in October. I found out recently that the accreditation (CCNE) for the bachelors program expires June 2021.
Anyone know anything about the accreditation process and is it a mistake to go to a school that may or not remain accredited?
