I'm not sure what their accreditation is, but it sounds like you should look for a Regional Accredidation, meaning that most other universities in the area would likely accept credits earned there when going for a BSN. Also, be sure that once you complete the course, you'll be eligible to sit for the N CLEX. From what Ive read, its tough for all new grads, but once you have some experience behind you, there are much more opportunities.
I, also was accepted at Galen, and no this school isn't accredited, so you will not be able to work on a Bachelor's Degree later on in your career. I have checked, just typed in http://nlnac.org/Forms/directorySearch.asp. Type in Ohio, then Associates/ RN, they are not even listed. I am going to check the three other Universities here in Cincinnati, that is accredited.
I just recently was accepted to Galen's RN program in Cincinnati. I moved from PA and will probably be moving back once I finish and pass the boards. I am worried about the accreditation through Galen. I have read other posts and discussions saying that people have had trouble getting jobs being a graduate of galen and that if you wanted to get the BSN not many schools take Galen's credits. I really like Galen's program and like I said have already been accepted and start in January but I guess I just need some reassurance that I won't be screwing myself over or hindering my future. I already have a degree in Health Education and I'm not looking into being a nurse practitioner or anything. Hope someone can help:uhoh3:
