Future Spring '11 Nurse Students

hey everyone;

i'm starting this post for all the students who are applying later this year for the spring '11. it may seem a little to early to post this but there is a lot of studying to do. in my school applications are due in dec. (they haven't posted a date yet). after reading many threads about the nln-pax ,i plan to start studying for it in the summer(no classes). as for the fall i will be taking:

a & p 1

molecular foundations of cell function

eng 151

statistic

ped 190

how about the rest of you? what are your study plans? what classes will you take in the fall?

I will be applying for Spring 2011 admission. I am taking AP1 and English 1 now, so far both classes I have A's. My school requires completion of all pre-req's before you apply, so I have to take AP2 and Micro this summer. The deadline is mid October for applications for spring. I also will be taking the pre-entrance exam this summer, which I will start studying for as soon as this semester is finished. Admission is based solely on grades and the pre-entrance test.

For this fall, I am taking everything I need for graduation requirements....statistics, physchology, nutrtion and one humanites elective. Then I will only have the core nursing classes in order to graduate. I hope my plan works out for me! lol

And to be completely honest, I am scared of taking AP2 and Micro over the summer, since my school bases everything on grades and I am scared I can't study enough due to the short amount of time we have.

Try not to think that way! You got this far and it seems most ppl have trouble with a&p1 then a&p2. You'll do great, just remember to keep us posted!

Hi my fellow future spring'11 nursing students,

I live in jax,fl and attending fscj. I'm taking my prereqs also, so far I've completed a&p1,(A) enc,(B) and I'm currently enrolled into a&p2,college alga and human growth which I all have an A currently in all three.this summer I will be taking chem,humanities and intro sociology. I have to take the Nat this summer as well and then I will be able to apply, the deadline is Oct 1st. Then I only have micro and psy to complete which i will do in the fall.

Applying to a baccalaureate to associate degree nurse accelerated pathway to begin in the summer of 2011. I have to be completely finished with my pre reqs before I can apply. I have Chemestry this summer and Micro in the fall. I'm applying in Jan 2011. Admission is based on cumulative GPA only! I have a 3.4 GPA right now. So nervous!

I can't believe I'm almost "there".....

I won't dive into my study guide yet.(okay, maybe I'll page thru it!!)

Hi there! I might be a Spring '11 nursing student... I'm not sure yet. I've just started inquiring at the hospital-based nursing schools in the area and hoping things will work out that soon for me. Originally I wanted to become a pharmacist but after some personal experiences and reflection I've decided I'd rather do direct patient care.

In the meantime I am applying to volunteer at local hospitals and trying to become a CNA, which should give me a much better idea of what's going on, right?

So right now I'm just learning about the PSB exam (the one that is required for these schools), what nursing school might be like, what other ducks I need to have in a row first, and what jobs I can hold down while also doing nursing school. I'm excited to have found this board, because I find I want to talk about it a lot and my family and friends only want to listen to so much!
