Do you label your pens with your name?
At work, this is a must and something that should be taught. Somehow legs materialize on the pens that I have taken into work....lesson learned.
Yes, I am an odd one. :redpinkhe

No, but I should! At this point, I just get cheapie Wal-Mart pens that way if I lose one, no worries.
Now, if I could do that for my cherished can of Coke I keep in the staff fridge, that would be great! I am not selfish about very much but I tell people to keep their paws off my Coke!

Dang right.
I used to have an AMAZING, big, fat, cushioned, shiny, silver-colored pen from a drug rep (back when they were allowed to come bribe us -- heck, I'll sell myself out and advertise their product that I don't believe in as long as it means free stuff for me) that fell out of my pocket one day.
I was DEVASTATED!!
I bought so many pens at so many stores trying to replace it, but none were the same.
Then one day I was walking through another unit and saw it sitting on their nurse's station. I had to commence "Operation: Iwantmyfreakingpenbackandiwantitnowyoucrazypenstealers."
I stole it back.
It ran out of ink 1 week later -- and was not refillable. :bluecry1:
I miss that pen.
Moral of the story: Label your pens, markers, and highlighters.

How are you supposed to label them? Unless you get those pens for kids that have your name printed on them.
I've bought several packs of pens so I'm never short, and I don't seem to have a problem with people stealing them either. We also put a pack of pens in one of the residents' bedside table so if you don't have one you go see him. He likes being the pen guy. lol.
You can label them with an ultra-fine point Sharpie or other permanent marker.
Or, alternatively, if you have a computer or a handheld label-maker, you can make your own sticker, cut it to size, and slap it on there. I used to do this in middle school (I'm a freak).

I label my pens just because the other ward clerk I work with also uses the same kind of pen that I do :) Pentel RSVP Fine Point.
