FSW Fall 2016 Nursing Applicants

Hello everyone,

I wanted to create a thread for those of us that are planning on applying to the nursing program for fall 2016. We can post about studying for the HESI/TEASE. FSW has changed from the HESI beginning Febuary 2016, so those of you that haven't already taken it you must take the HESI before Febuary 1st. If not you will need to plan on studying for the TEASE. Application deadline is May 15th. We can post about our points, most of you know what that consist of. Students are admitted off from a point system, the higher the points the better chance you have of being selected for the program. Our points is based off how many prerequisites we have taken upon application, our gpa for those prerequisites we have taken. And finally our HESI or TEASE score. For those of you that haven't taken the HESI or TEASE we can plan a study group either online or in person. I'm a in my final class required to apply (AP I), in another school. I will have 7 courses completed upon application so that gives me 29 points for that. I have not taken the HESI yet so I don't know my points for that yet. I haven't been able to figure out my final gpa yet because I'm in this last course. But I hope to get to know some of you and I hope one day we will even be in class together!

I wonder how many people applied with hesi scores

Probably a lot less than those who applied with the teas

I wish we knew what day they were meeting to discuss their choices. Last year they met on a Wednesday and emails went out the following Monday.

Just spoke with Wendy at the Charlotte campus and she said emails should be out by FRIDAY THE 10th !!! So start checking your emails daily!

Does having experience as a CNA help? I'm so nervous. My gpa isn't the greatest but everything else looks good :( just want to bite the bullet!

Won't be long now folks. Fingers crossed and good thoughts. I have certainly gone from being so nervous that I was almost sick to the general bliss of acceptance of the situation. For all of those that do make it, congrats. For all of those that do not, this is only the end if you let it be. Regardless of the outcome, it will be the start of the next phase for all of us. That phase may be finishing up prerequisites and taking that heinous TEAS V again, or registering for nursing classes. I guess what I am trying to say in some round about way is.. This too is a step in the right direction for all. The next step is yet to be determined. Cheers to you all..

Last year they found out June 8th. I've just been reading these posts and refreshing my email constantly. I'm so anxious.
