FSCJ Summer 2011 Hopefuls

Okay....This is for everyone who ever wanted to know about retaking a C. This is my True Hollywood Story!! lol Okay So I attempted to enter the program 3 terms ago with a 190 and did not cut it so I wanted to retake human growth and psychology which I had received an C in. I talked t about 3 different advisors on all 4 campuses searching for an answer. Some where straight up mean about it "NO! you cannot retake a C" One fine day I finally talked a an advisor at ceicil center and she told me to talk to the Dean of worksource at north campus(Dr. Neal Henning) She told me he would let me retake my C's since i am a nursing hopeful...so i went and called him and he told me that since it has not been six years that he would not allow me to retake but he gave me the greatest advice EVER!!! He told me I could fill out a transient form and transfer to Columbia college and retake both courses online in 8 weeks and transfer back to fscj by terms start. So I did. I received a transient form from the office and found out columbia college's class equivalent course codes and WALAAAA!! I just finished up both classes with A's transfered back over and submitted my columbia transcript all in time for this summer term =) I am 24 with a 4 year old and 3 year old and I visited the school almost everyday with both of them in those offices to get this done...it was anything but EASY! Them acedemic advisors know absolutely NOTHING!!! I visited all of them after I actually did it and told them what they said I could not do and they were speachless! I just wanted to let them know so for any of you who are in the same boat does not have to go through all the hoops I did =) Hope this helps.

Hey, I'm glad you posted this cause I want to retake pschyology too, and I made a C in it, what all do I need to do and what us the class number for it if you remember lol, any help I would so appreciate thanks! I'm like 1.16 points from the cutoff and having 6 more points would def get me in!

Congratulations to all you that made it in next term. We are finishing up our first term in a few weeks, it has been quite a ride so far. Buckle up and welcome to "Nursing School". I can assure you this semester has flown by, its hard to believe we were starting just a short time ago like all of you all.

My only advice is to be well organized, study hard and buckle up, it'll will fly by...Actually with all probability you will enjoy it all as we have....And Good Luck and Best Wishes to you all....

Ok I signed up for Columbia college and classes start this Monday!!! I'll be finished late in may and then apply for fall with 200.68 points! Ugh what a pain, what would be funny is if I got In for summer and did this for nothing lol

no i havent got anything yet, im just covering my bases if i dont, if i dont get in for summer, at least ill have a better chance for fall term

yes thats true, but kt2010 got one and the cut off was 195.84 and im like 1.16 points away, and she had 194.42 amd was 24 seats away, im only 0.26 points more than her so id be lucky if i did got a acceptance letter, but hey theres always a chance!!

do you know how many people decline their seats usually? like 5-10? or more

Did you confirm with North Campus that they would take your credits from Columbia College?

See I'm so torn because if I retake Human Growth and Development @ Columbia College I would be at 199 points and may have a shot at the RN program for fall. I have not a clue what I should do, I keep going back and forth btwn LPN and RN. I already know that I want to be an RN. UGHHHH! :)
