Frustrated

i got just 80% in both 1st and 2nd exams of nursing concept-i, so i’m very very frustrated about my results because it’s a “c”. any suggestions about how to improve studying habits will be greatly appreciated.

wow, first of all an 80 is still a c thats awful. i have 3 points on you at my school. as relentless as it is to hear it again, read before you go to class. just so you have an idea what you are going to talk about. just scan the reading you dont have to read it word for word. another thing, i have to take a tape recorder to class, i am an auditory learner so i record the lecture and just listen in class, then i go home and take notes. i would also set up a meeting with an instructor to review your tests! they write them, they know how to guide you better than anyone, and they will see that you are making an effort. most importantly change something. if you have been studying the same and getting the same results, you will continue to do that unless you make a change. i wish you the best of luck. trust me there are alot of us right there with you, but i really took initiative and did these things cause i failed out before and it helped me so much. congrats on making an 80 though, thats still a good thing to be passing! there arent 'c' rns and 'a' rns, we are all just rns, so give yourself a break.

I understand how you feel. I began my first nursing class in Sept. On the first test I made an 85 and on the second test I made a 78. I have been so dissappointed by these scores. I have done so much better in my gen. ed. classes. I am also struggling with how to study now. At my school a 91=A, 85=B, 77=C and anything below a 77 is failing. I now have a 3.47 but after this I don't know. I am really struggling with the critical thinking and I pray to get better at it and I guess I need a new approach to studying also.
