A little background first. I am an LPN that returned to school for RN. I have graduated and just waiting to take the boards. I heard about a job opening through an acquantaince and applied for it. I went for the interview on a Friday, went back that Monday for the drug test and fingerprinting. I was told that Monday that I would get a call back within 24 hours as to what my status and pay was. I was also told they were hiring a few people and wanted to get everybody into orientation at the same time so. I knew that the DON was out sick that week so ok. Now it has been over a week since I was supposed to get that phone call back and I still haven't heard anything. I have tried to call but left a message and I spoke to the DON while he was out but he still couldn't tell me what my pay would be. At this point I am wondering if I really even want the job. Has anyone ever had to wait this long to find out what their pay would be? I didn't even know what my status would be until I talked to the DON. I really want to work in a hospital not a nursing home but I am trying to give it the benefit of the doubt because I really have no experience except for clinicals so I can't knock anything until I try it. I may have a job in a hospital too because I am supposed to call the Nurse Recruiter back once I have my sit date which I should have within the next 2 weeks. So, does anyone have any comments, suggestions, words of wisdom? I will take critiscism if that is all you have too. I really just want to know what my pay would be I can wait for orientation and everything else but seriously.
