Frustate with understaffing/managements refusal to safely staff.

I can't stand this! Management (at the top) has to STOP cutting back on the things that directly affect patient care!

Cutting back on staffing, while increasing paperwork demand. Buying cheap products ie. bed alarms that are defective..etc etc. I'm sure many of you can add to the list.

Had a pt fall and get a fracture d/t a bed alarm malfunction. These bed alarms have been known to malfunction many times in the past. This information was passed on to management. We were told to check their function every shift. BUT.. that doesn't fix the problem. Now one of my dear patients is suffering.

I can't handle the amount of triple documentation that we are required to do.. WHILE leaving on time to boot. I read somewhere on here, that "we take care of documents, not patients".. and that is SO true!

We need LESS banquets and functions and more money and time going toward the patients. This is scary. Personally.. when I get old and need help.. I want to be left alone to die in my own home. What's cruel treatment is what is happening today in healthcare. UGH!!!!!
