From California but attending nursing school out of state. NCLEX?

Hello! I was born and raised in California but I am currently attending an accelerated BSN program in Ohio. I was wondering if anyone could share their experience obtaining their CA nursing license after attending school out of state. Were you able to complete the licensure by exam in your state or did you take the NCLEX in Ohio (or another state) and then apply for licensure by endorsement? I have not been able to locate the CA BON educational requirements online, does anyone know where I can find this? Any info will be helpful—thanks in advance!

Toward the end of your program, your nursing school should provide a NCLEX application form to fill in where you can select the state where you would like your initial licensure from. You can select any state. When you receive your authorization to schedule your exam (also called "authorization to test" or "ATT"), you can schedule to take the test in any state you choose. Once you pass the NCLEX, you will receive a license from the state you selected on the NCLEX application.
