Hi Ado and Dianah

Stars sounds like a productive day

Tweety that is odd that she would ask for advise but then not respond

Work day ended up being busier than expected.  The coworker who was off got a new case that I had to manage.  Then my other coworker was struggling, so I ended up helping her with another new case for the absent coworker.  And we had a meeting that I had almost forgotten.  Wasn't crazy busy but no break

Took my car in for maintenance in the morning, decided to delay my lunch break until the car was ready.  Wasn't ready until almost 4, so I took a few minutes here and there to eat lunch and do a few more things.  Thankfully nothing in need of repair, just routine maintenance

Rest of the day was pretty calm, just exercised

Today should also be pretty calm after work.  And during work too I hope, no meetings on the schedule, and hopefully no new cases

Will be a bit cooler today, in the upper 80s

Yeah, so, the very second I got Nannie in her recliner yesterday afternoon, she turned and saw my car and said, "Are we getting ready to go out somewhere now?" Her poor little pea-brain is rattling in that skull. I said we had JUST NOW come BACK from being somewhere, but she didn't believe me.

Later, she watched about three minutes of a baseball game and a few commercials, so I got a 35 minute explanation that was filled with stuttered partial words, the few of which I actually understood:..."and, oh YOU know!" // "And um" + "and so...." // all accompanied by her waving hands and wiggling fingers and pointing, all coming around to the ending of her 'speechifying".....which once again ended up being about her SHOES, even though she didn't start talking bout them !! I decided that next time she gets on a roll like that (a very bumpy roll!) I am going to turn on the recorder in my phone so I can accurately repeat some of it,  Her so-called 'thoughts' tumbled and got all gummed up so badly that her mouth and brain could not keep up with each other. I just sat with my chin in my hand and said "Uh-huh," whenever it seemed required. Like I said, she went on in that vein for just over 1/2 an hour....at which point her talking just petered out right in the middle of a sentence! I asked "What was it you just said?" and she smiled and said "Yes". So I said,"No, I didn't understand the last few words you spoke" and she smiled and said "Yes." as if she was completely satisfied....as if I understood ANYTHING about what came out of her mouth!  Just a lot of   "Uh.....uh.....uh.....uh" with an  actual, real word thrown in every now and then, followed by "Uh.....um....uh...." .

We'n's got us a temperature of 92, but the "feels like" temp is 105 degrees. Humidity is not ultra-high, but the sky might eke out a bit of splash, flash and boom around 7 PM.

BiL woke me up at 8 AM by phoning me (I guess I turned off my alarm clock again) and he said the plumbers were on their way, and he would be coming over shortly after that. So I jumped up and got dressed and evicted Nannie from her bed, and dressed her, then installed in her recliner with her breakfast tray, Then we were descended upon by "a whole crowd" (per Nannie's estimate) of BiL and 2 plumbers.....(both skinny and had no drooping pants showing their rear cleavage!). They worked until about 1 PM and were all done. It looks good, but it confuses Nannie to see the changes made; because it looks more like a large hole in the wall than anything else. The only concern I had was that I ALMOST sat on the non-existent edge of the not-present-any-longer tub. I have to sit down while I change her socks and shoes and pull-ups and pads and pants, because otherwise my knees complain. Maybe she'll be happier when the window curtains and the shower curtain go back up. Last night it took quite some doing to convince her that nobody was standing outside in the front yard looking in at her when I sat her on the toilet. Never mind that nobody could see through the hedges and the baby trees coming up through the hedge, even if they tried! She's always been the female who thinks every male person on the planet wants her, regardless of their (or her) age! 'Cause, she IS such a Hotsy-Totsy, doncha know!

It is past my brunch time. I would go up and get myself something to nosh on, but there Nannie sits, WIDE AWAKE and endlessly fiddling with her sleeves and the front hemline of her jersey, which she then rolls her hands into. And no, it isn't because she feels chilly. She started about two weeks ago, putting both hands into the opposite arms sleeve ends, making a kind of hand-muff. Now she is squinting out into the yard, and who knows what she imagines she is looking at.

If I didn't have to get her supper in a little while, I believe I could go up to my bed and SLEEP! One, because I had to get up earlier than usual, and two, because I am so bored with and by Nannie. She is now re-examining her hands rolled up in her sleeves, and then the hem of her shirt, and sees she MUST rearrange them for the 7,937th time today, after which she re-re-examines them and the whole process repeats and repeats and repeats. OY! It has to be tough not having even 3 seconds worth of an attention span. But, then again, she doesn't really realize it, so it can keep her endlessly busy. For me, it just makes me feel kind of brain-dead.

I better stop here and hush. We all know I can go for days in this train of thought,  grousing about the minutiae (sp?) of her habits and activities, etc.

Bleh! Meh! 🤮 Aaaaaarrrrrrgggghhhhhh!!  KLUNK!

Someone from the city asked us on Tuesday if the hospital could man a first aid station at the fireworks show tonight. The evening was supposed to start at 5:00 with food trucks, a car show, etc. and the fireworks tp start after dark. So here I sit but we had a downpour and everything is wet. At least it isn't hot?! They do the fireworks over the city lake.
