Hi! Well a few things based off what I've heard from other students and questions I've asked counselors, the school of nursing used the academic approach this cycle, so we were ranked by GPA and the TEAS score was used as a tie breaker:)
As for the alternate situation, Spring cycles for nursing apps are usually a much smaller pool because they're only accepting current Fresno state students, whereas Fall is open to anyone with the proper credits! I believe there's 55 spots available a cycle and I've heard there's an alternate list as long as 15 spots. So it's possible that so few people applied that they technically didn't need to send out any rejection notices which I think is great because it really guarantees that most of us that apply will get in!!
To follow up, I received an acceptance email at 11:30 am this morning! I know a main thing we must have is a CPR certification before starting and Fresno state currently has a $25 seminar deal where you learn about healthy social habits and get CPR certification at the end, all covered! It's first come first serve if anyone is interested:)
Hi!
I am excited I will be joining you in Spring 2019 at Fresno. I am a second bachelors, in prenursing and completed my prereqs in the Sac area. I have a bach of science in accounting and now a mom of 2. Do you know how much second bach will cost per semester?
My stats 3.9 gpa and 84 on teas. Surprised I got in bc I was applying in Sac area more difficult to get in. I think you need a 4.0 gpa and mid 90s on teas to get in.

I wanted to start a thread for anyone applying to the Fresno State Nursing Program for Spring 2019. I had questions about GPAs and TEAS scores and if maybe anyone knew if this cycle would involve the holistic approach or simply be GPA based. Also does anyone have an idea about when we might hear back? Let's get to know each other! :)
