I'm a freshman going for my BSN and I understand that I would have to take the TEAS Exam to get into the nursing program (along with meeting my prereqs and the required GPA). I'm just curious to know how was the exam? Did you find it hard or easy or does it depend on what school you attend? (I go to North Park University Chicago).

If it's the same TEAS I took, as long as you graduated high school, you'll pass. Seriously, the questions on there for math and English were things covered when I was in 8th grade. Basic algebra, basic word association, etc. Did you take the SAT? It's not even 1/10th the difficult of that, IMO. Especially once you go through you basic pre-reqs, your algebra, your English 101, etc...it's a breeze.

This is a standardized test for most schools, depending the school you have one of two different types of entrance exams, one is the TEAS test and the other is the HESI both are general knowledge and math. Just to endure you have very good reading skills and able to understand what you are reading there are several study guides and if you google the TEAS test there is a site that will let you take a practice test, to see how you can handle the material.
No I took the ACT
ACT, SAT...either way, it's pretty much the same difference. Both test general skills and try to predict how well you'll do in a college environment. If you get through your basics and pass, you'll have absolutely no issue passing the TEAS. It's the basic, general stuff. Read a passage, determine what words in a certain sentence mean...determine the main idea of this paragraph...that kind of stuff. It really isn't anything to stress over :).

TEAS V (i.e., version 5) is a standardized test; but of, say, 20 people in a room taking it together, the order of questions, and perhaps even the actual test (there is more than one version) will be different for each person. (No point in trying to see what's on an adjacent terminal screen.)
The above posters were fortunate to attend high schools much more advanced than mine. My H.S. chemistry teacher didn't understand mudh of the information shown on a periodic table. (Seriously.) And the rest of my H.S. "education" was similar. Of course, at that time, there were only 12 elements on the periodic table.
I found ATI's Study Guide--aval. at bookstores--a tremendous help.
Passing score, and the score necessary to get admitted to a particular school, is set by each individual school. You might "pass" TEAS V, based on your H.S. education, and not get admitted.

I studied for about 10 days and my adjusted individual total score was 81.3%. Couple that with having been out of school for about 6 years. You can totally ace it! Focus on the subject matter you know you're weak in and just brush up on the rest. Good luck!
Is it too early to be looking at practice exams lol? My advisor told me that it might change by the time I take it but it never hurts does it?
