My husband recieved a purple heart for injuries during his deployment two years ago so i'm thinking of applying to the school but i dont know which program to take that would be helpful to my nurising degree as well. Right now i'm doing the ASN program through excelsior, and i was thinking of signing up for At-Risk Youth or Chemical Dependancy...any suggestions or thoughts/comments are much appreciated.

yeah i figured i will take advantage of the program i just didnt know which would be the best if any. I like the sound of the chemical dependancy/ drug addiction one or the at risk youth, but i'm still not sure which specialty of nursing i'd like to go into. i know i'd like to deal with ped's so probably the at-risk youth would be good...oh well, i will just have to go in there and talk to a counselor and see what they say!

talked to a few friends of mine who are RN's and they suggested the chemical dependancy degree since i'd like to do psych nursing one day. hopefully it will work out, i figure free education is worth it. heck my husband got injured the least we can get is education assistance so when he wants to get out of the army and go to school full time i'll have a degree and good job prospects to take care of our family like he's taken care of us for so long!!!! (can you tell i miss him terribly? this deployment SUX!) :(
