Hi- I was looking at psychiatric NP certifications and one school says it qualifies you for family psych nurse practitioner. However every time I look online for that description it comes up with FPNP being a Family Planning Nurse Practitioner. Even looking at lists of abbreviations I can't find FPNP as it relates to Psych. Which makes me think I need to find a program offering the PMHNP certification- but what's the difference? And why is FPNP only showing as family planning?
Thanks

Look for PMHNP programs. Then look to see whether a precise PMHNP program would prepare you to take the Child, Family, or Adult PMHNP certifications.
