I was in an RN program a little over 10 years ago. After completing a Bachelors of Social Work and a Masters in Applied Behavior Analysis, I am trying to get back into nursing as I have realized that is really what I want to do, I get jealous when I hear other people talking about working in the medical field and a child I work with has several medical conditions that have sparked an interest in getting back into the field. With all that in mind I am gathering information about various programs in my area and trying to determine the best path for me. I realize I will most likely need to re-take a lot of the pre-reqs, but my biggest question is about the entrance exams. Most of the schools/programs I'm looking into require the HESI, but there is at least one that I would really like that requires the TEAS. I have been using the various apps to study, but is there a big difference between the two that I need the specific apps for each test, or would it be better to focus on just one? For what it's worth, when I went into nursing the first time, I got about a 98% on the NLN exam, but that was in 2006.
Also, any advice about managing work and nursing school? I know I will most likely have to cut back my work hours and am hoping to get some financial support from my mom, but having been through undergrad and a masters program already, I don't have a great deal of financial aid available.
