I am wondering if anyone knows of a program anywhere that offers a formal OR nurse training course for experienced nurses. I have been a PACU nurse for 12 years and have recently found myself circulating minor plastics cases due to staff shortage. I would love to have formal training, however.

Aug 26, 2016 If your facility is expecting you to be able to circulate in addition to PACU nursing, they need to provide the orientation that would properly cross-train you- it should not be something you should have to do on your own or pay your own money for. If the facility is unwilling to do so, it is one I would not be willing to work for. It's not a safe practice.
