Hi everyone !
I'll be 31 in 3 months, I came here from Ukraine 8 years ago, became US citizen year ago. Married and have two boys 2 and 4. I got Masters degree in economy back home and am working here as Purchasing Analyst for over 5 years. I see that this carrier does not pay much and it is hard to find job in the case if they will lay me off. So I decided to start my pre-requisites for Nursing program this semester. I'd like to start with 1 class for now to see if I'll be able to handle it (I work full time 1st shift). I don't know yet which pre-requisites I'll need, probably a lot of them. But I wanted to ask if any of you come from foreign country like me and how difficult it was for you to study and to understand it all ? Will I be able to do all pre-requisites and work full time (I do understand that later for Nursing program if I ever get accepted I won't be able to do it) ? Besides I am almost 31, is that too late to start it all now ?
Thank you so much to all of your answers in advance !

Definitely not too late my friend. Get through the prerequisites first and then take it from there. Step by step and set goals. You can do it if you believe you can. Best of luck
Thank you for encouragement !

You will do just fine! I am not a native english speaker either, I will admit it took some studying to familiarize myself with terminology for the science classes, I felt like I had never studied biology because the lingo was so different. I had a Russian lab partner in general biology and we fumbled through the vocabulary together . I am 38, work full-time, have a family and I am currently doing my last prerequisites. So it can be done... Don't let the language barrier stop you. There are many foreign students entering the nursing program in my school this year.
Thank you so much ! It is great encouragement for me !
