Hello....any recent advice/ commentary on starting a foot care business? There is an old thread, but I'm wondering if there is anything more recent from any foot care nurses...thanks so much. I am on my way next week to Rainier Med in WA for training, hopefully to complete certification and begin a business...any help or comments would be appreciated...Debbie

It is going great! I am continuing to grow my business and if everything keeps going well I could hopefully replace my full time job soon. FNI was one of the best decision I ever made. I love heather.
Hi... First of all, Dr. Julia's program is great... Definitely attend!
Unfortunately, my life has come up on many MAJOR stumbling blocks and bumps in my road in the last few years, and I have never been able to get a biz up and going... YET! I am still hoping that I will, in the not too distant future, be able to do some foot care as a part of a more diverse biz encompassing multiple services, including healthy cooking ( using food as medicine), yoga/ meditation/ mindfulness...
Enjoy Seattle! ?
I am all but ready to pull the trigger on this course, She seems so sweet and helpful, I'm just nervous about starting out, not sure why as I've wasted more money on things that don't matter haha, but any updates on how your doing with your business? have you had a hard time finding people wanting this service despite having to private pay? we are in a rural fairly poor area and I want to make sure its worth it. It's definitely needed.
My business has decreased but I also have had some life changes. If you want to shoot me an email we could set up a time to chat. [email protected].
I live in rural area also and people like the idea of footcare but they don't want to pay for it. So I would recommend calling around marketing and getting a feel for your the need and interest in your area.
my email is [email protected], I have no idea what's going on but I appreciate you hanging in there with me hahaha

While I am currently on tract to be a CRNA - I like the idea and think it is very innovative to have a foot care group of RN's/NP. Podiatry is a very big components of patient care - especially now with our patients who are Diabetic with neuropathies.
To assist in your quest of building up this business, I think you should:
1. Get certified in foot care/podiatry
2. Become familiar with podiatry patient needs
3. Come up with home care plans for these patients
4. Maybe set up a system to have weekly check-ins for the patients, potentially on zoom (for a care)
I have tons of ideas as you can tell LOL. Hopefully you find this useful!
