Hi, I plan to attend d'youville from Canada in 2022. I wonder if anyone goes to d'youville like me. I have lots of questions that could not be answered by school. Where is the placements canadian students have to go?Canada side or US side? Does the school finds students placement or students need to find placements themselves Canada? How do people manage school, study, life in general? How people pay for school in general. Any information is greatly appreciated.

Hi, I live in Oakville and finishing up my final year in DYC FNP program. I found it to be a challenging program tbh. They do not find you clinical placements, however, they do provide you with potential placements based on where you live. I got very lucky and a placement just fell into my lap?
Overall I would say it's a good program a little disorganized sometimes which I found was pretty normal for my RPN and BScN?

Hello everyone,
Anyone recently started the FNP or the PMHNP program at D’Youville? I applied for Spring 2023, looking for some info about the program? Thank you!

Did you start the Spring program? I'm applying for fall 2023 and curious about the program
RNMOMX5,
Hi, happy new year! I applied and got accepted but I went with Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh instead. My coworker just started at D'Youville. She mentioned that she was told she could take Advanced patho and health assessment somewhere else before starting the program... She did however they did not accept the classes. She also mentioned this semester, both her classes are online (asynchronous). To get in, an overall GPA of 3.0 or above is required(this is a combination of all the college classes). Good luck, you should apply, I'm sure you'll get in. Process was easy and quick.

Hey! Did you have to have any RN experience prior to applying? And how long was the program?

Hey! Did you have any RN experience prior to applying? Are you completing the two year or three year program?

Hello all,
I am applying to the DYC FNP program for Fall 2023. I am from Toronto but was wondering if you can get the NP certification from NYC and use it in Ontario. I did call the school and they said they've never heard of anyone having any problems. I haven't heard back from the CNO yet but it is not on their list of certified programs, although it is a certified program. Does anyone know if the certification can be used in Ontario or if there is a process you have to go through to convert it?

Yes. I know several NPs in Ontario who went to dyouville. By the way how many years of nursing experience do you have? Are you doing the online program?

Hi all,
I live in Ontario GTA - I have applied for the post Masters Nurse Practitioner Certificate at D'youville as I completed a Masters I'm Nursing in 2016. Unfortunately, they only accepted me into the MS FNP program which means I have to re-do my Masters degree. My heart is broken at the thought of starting all over again. Nonetheless, I want this bad enough to do it. I will begin in the Fall of 2023!

Hello present and past DYC NP students and graduates.
Thank you Catharis for sharing. I started DYC MN-FNP program in 2023 and I am finding difficulty connecting with Canadian students. I live in Toronto and I also have worry about being able to practice in Ontario as CNO does not recognize DYC NP Program.
For those who graduated, are you able to work in Ontario as NP? I am getting concerned. CNO told me they can't guarantee they will approve DYC in few years despite there are DYC NP graduates working in Ontario already.
How rigorous process is it to register with CNO after graduating?
For us DYC MN-FNP students- is there a FB site where we can connect or exchange experiences/ struggles and help each other as we go through the program? I love to connect.

Hey
what did cno say to you exactly? I'm planning on applying but hearing that they may not recognize it in a few years is worrying. Also annoyed because they have accepted it for years
