I know I want a masters. I have been working in the hospital setting as a floor nurse for over a year now. I feel I need to take a step towards my masters. I am having a very difficult time deciding between getting my FNP/PA or a healthcare administration masters.
I like the NP/PA option because I enjoy interacting with my patients.
I would also enjoy a leadership position which I can attain through healthcare admin degree, also considering admin degree because would help with family business.
Any advice? Which masters would lead to most opportunities and is the best to pursue at this time?

If you are aiming for a nursing job in administration, you'll need an MSN. The most prevalent degree requirements for non-nurses in healthcare administration are MHA & MBA - with focus in healthcare finance. Healthcare finance is so different than other industries that 'generic' finance degrees are not that valuable. Healthcare operations is a pretty different animal also - even HR is pretty unique due to all the stuff related to scopes of practice and licensure.
There are a ton of different MSN options other than NP. One of the hottest new ones is Quality & Safety -includes all of the methods and processes that are in use today.
Best wishes on your career advancement pathway!
