FNP Fall 2023 Mount Saint Vincent

Nursing Students NP Students

Hi everyone,

I haven't seen a recent thread for the FNP program at MSV. Wondering if anyone else is applying for the fall?? Anyone currently in the program able to give advice?

Thank you!

Hello,

I know how it feels to look for information & not find answers, so I'm here to help. I graduated from CMSV 2022. It's a good program , be ready to study and manage your work schedule around school especially when you start clinicals. You must be able to teach yourself at times but professors are available if you need extra help thru office hours or email. Yes you need to rent/buy textbooks some professors are very specific like some classes require you to read the textbook. Cons: in person evening classes usually 4-7 or 5-8 once or twice a week; you have to find your own clinical sites but they provide some potentials if you can't find one at all. Overall it was a good program, it was hard at times but it prepared me for boards. I did it working full time , until clinicals I dropped to part time then per diem. The first few course are easy theory / research , but classes you must study for are advanced patho 1&2 , advanced health assessment & advanced pharmacology. Hope I gave you some insight . Good Luck ?

For the essay it's 1 page ... I think they give you a question like why do want to be a NP unless it has changed ask the admission counselor about the question. It's a really simple process to get in once you submit everything . Like I said easy getting in but not easy staying in but if you passsed nursing school you got this ! Good luck.

@abari2 thank you again! Now that you have graduated and have been out of school for a bit, how do you feel? Do you feel like MSV prepared you enough to practice, do you feel confident? I've heard mixed reviews with this school.
