Hi Everyone,

Happy Holidays.

My Name is Marti. I live in Miami,Fl.

I have been a nurse 20 years. I went to Jackson School of Nursing. I worked at Jackson Hosptial until I had a very bad back injury and couldn't do floor nursing anymore.

I have 2 children, 27 and 18. I have been married 32 years. I am 51. I loved nursing so much that I became an Ombudsman 8 years ago so I could still help people. I am the chairwoman and nursing consutant for our council. In 2001, I was the Ombudsman of the year. I think this has become my PASSION in life. I work all the nursing homes and alot of the ALFs as well. I feel by going in and working the complaints and doing the annual inspections, it helps the residents as well as staff.I think I am always fair and look at both sides. Together we make a big difference in nursing.

It is very nice to meet everyone. I am looking for some new nurse friends, that I can chat with and use as a resourse person. I have been out of the hospital setting so long, and want to be fair in my judgements. So if anyone want to be MY Mentor and friend, please email me at [email protected].

Hi Marti,

I am fairly new to this site as well. I found it about a month ago. I hope you enjoy it.

I lived in West Palm Beach for 20 years before getting married and moving away. After my husband retires from the USAF, we are thinking of the Tampa area to settle.
