Hello everyone! I recently moved to Jacksonville and I have applied for a lot of jobs with no luck. I applied to Florida Hospital Flagler (although it is an hour drive from me) for their New Nurse Residency Program. Has anyone gone through this program? If so, what was it like?? Does anyone have any tips/suggestions?
I have also applied to Mayo Clinic's New Nurse Residency Program, but I know it is extremely competitive.
Anyone???

Don't know the program you're asking about, sorry. Don't live in Florida, but there have been numerous posts over time detailing the low pay and the saturated market for nurses, particularly new grads in Florida. Seems you can't swing a dead cat without hitting one. Maybe there are pockets in the State where it's better...?
Where did you move from, and why did you think the employment outlook would be good in Jacksonville? Competition is going to be steep no matter what, I'd think, and you're competing against those who did clinicals (and have networked) at the same hospitals that have never heard of you.
I actually moved away from a lot of good hospitals. I didn't move to Jacksonville for the jobs, but for family reasons. I have an interview with this company and I was trying to see how it was before I committed to 2 years with them.

Hi! Did you ever get any information regarding the program? I'm also interested in learning more about it. I wonder if anybody would share the experiences or thoughts.
Yes, I went through the program. It's really beneficial for a new grad. You can PM me if you have any questions.
