Florida Hospital EDNIP

Anyone have any familiarity with this? (Emergency Department Nurse Internship Program) It sounds pretty great but is it super competitive? I'm from out of the area but have been looking to re-locate to central Florida, it sounds pretty awesome to me.

I'm about 2 months into the EDNIP program in FL Hospital East Orlando it and I really like it so far. The program is 3 weeks of class/orientation and 16 weeks of clinicals. During clinicals we work with a nurse who acts as a preceptor as you take on patients. As you progress, you work in different units within the ED for a certain amount of weeks until you "graduate" after about the 16th week (I say the word "about" because you can graduate in more or less time, depending on how you catch on). If you get the chance to do this program, you should definitely take it. It's a great program and FL Hospital is an excellent place to learn because they actually care about you as their employee. The only caveat is that you do have to sign a 2 year contract after you "graduate" from EDNIP. The pay is really only base with 11% night differential while you're considered a GN in their program. After you're employed as a regular nurse, you start getting premium differential, which is a lot more for working nights.
