I did a Google search for this and did not yield much information, so I am hoping someone here could help.
I currently attend an accredited RN program at my local college. The program itself is very intense, but I have learned a lot. This program in particular has a mandatory 80% average on all exams/assignments/clinical proficiency etc. They've adopted their own grading scale and a 79 or below is an F. There are four parts of the program, one semester each, respectfully titled Nursing 1, 2, and so on. By the rules of the program you cannot repeat a semester more than once, so if you repeat Nursing 1, you cannot repeat another semester. If you do not make their 80% cut off mark, they will boot you from the program and you are barred from reapplying for two years.
I am in Nursing 3 now, but due to my mothers suicide I had to repeat Nursing 2. I am on the cliff with the 80% average and just want to make sure all my ducks are in a line, should I have to find another program. I know HCC offers to take Nursing students with classes already finished, and somewhat bridge your time, but I was curious if any other schools in Florida did this as well? I know with HCC if you have completed Nursing 1 or 2 at another program they will start you in their Nursing 2 course, so as to not make you repeat skills you've already mastered.
Thank you for your time!
