  1. I did a Google search for this and did not yield much information, so I am hoping someone here could help. I currently attend an accredited RN program at my local college. The program itself is very intense, but I have learned a lot. This program in particular has a mandatory 80% average on all exams/assignments/clinical proficiency etc. They've adopted their own grading scale and a 79 or below is an F. There are four parts of the program, one semester each, respectfully titled Nursing 1, 2, and so on. By the rules of the program you cannot repeat a semester more than once, so if you repeat Nursing 1, you cannot repeat another semester. If you do not make their 80% cut off mark, they will boot you from the program and you are barred from reapplying for two years. I am in Nursing 3 now, but due to my mothers suicide I had to repeat Nursing 2. I am on the cliff with the 80% average and just want to make sure all my ducks are in a line, should I have to find another program. I know HCC offers to take Nursing students with classes already finished, and somewhat bridge your time, but I was curious if any other schools in Florida did this as well? I know with HCC if you have completed Nursing 1 or 2 at another program they will start you in their Nursing 2 course, so as to not make you repeat skills you've already mastered. Thank you for your time!
  2. Yes! Search "PSC Nursing C/O Spring 2017"
  3. It let me register today. I dropped off my acceptance form yesterday and today it let me register for Pharm and Nursing 1. I chose Friday PM clinicals, and Tuesday Thursday for class. I suppose at the meeting we will find out what hospitals exactly are on what days..because I personally would love to avoid Bartow at all costs.
  4. Quick question for everyone admitted...are you guys able to register for Nursing 1 yet? I can't see it on my Passport and I don't know if that is on hold till after the meeting July 10th? If someone could let me know I would appreciate it :).
  5. GOT MY LETTER! I'm in! So exciting!!!
  6. Right when you log on to Passport you can see "Quick Links" on the left. First column, towards the bottom you'll see "Limited Access Application Status". Click there.
  7. Oh my gosh, you're the best!! I'm so excited! I live about 5 miles from the college and didn't get a letter today...so fingers crossed for tomorrow!! Good luck everyone!!
  8. No, I haven't. I just flew in this morning from vacation. But if someone would like too I wouldn't object. By the way, on the Polk Passport you can see your application has been received for the Nursing program. Anyone know if this will change when the decision is made, and possibly before letters are actually received?
  9. I'm so ready for the letters to be mailed! Someone should call and see if they've sent them out.
  10. Youre definitely in!!! Can't wait for this fall!!
  11. I hope so!! I have been at Polk in the past, but I transferred from Polk to Valencia in Spring 2014 to finish my AA and it took me a year to finish it and get all my extra pre-reqs for the Nursing program. Valencia accepts all applicants who meet their Nursing pre-req requirements, but on the downside there is a 2 year waiting list for the RN program and I don't have two years to wait around. So technically I'm transferring back to Polk. I did not apply anywhere else, all my eggs are in this basket so I am definitely hopeful!
  12. I just submitted my application on Thursday! Fingers crossed! I have completed my AA, took all pre-reqs that they recommended you take before the program (micro, etc) and my GPA is 3.18. My TEAS score was an 80 so hopefully this is enough to get in!! I'm so nervous!
