Florida or California?

Published

Hello there!

I wish to be licensed in the State of Florida but I'm having second thoughts because of certain factors. One of the requirement for foreign educated nurses is to go through the CES to completely analyze and evaluate their credentials. It generally takes 6-8 weeks to prepare and furnish a completed report and the processing fee is $278 apart from the Florida BON application itself($190).

California BON on the other hand requires no CES and the processing fee is only $107. I thought of pursuing my license in California and eventually transfer to Florida through endorsement. Would that be possible?

Please share your thoughts. Need to know if that would be a better decision. Thanks and more power.:)

Thanks alot for your reply! You are?! Me too.. I graduated from the Philippines.

Oh really.. okay, yes I will check it out to confirm that. and by the way, what is CES? Is it the same with the "Mandatory Continuing Education-CE?"

and how can I avail that?

and How did you do your endorsement process?

Is it like... we have to sent the "Nursing License Verification Request" form and the $60 to CA board and they will be the one to sent it to FL board, am I right?

Thank you in advance for your concern and help.... this meant alot to me... and Im really happy to find someone like you.... I just hope I could endorse it to FL without having to work first in the CA... anway I'll check that out.

Have a wonderful day!! May God bless you!! Take Care Po!!

ces is credential evaluation services (nursing and science course by course report) done thru cgfns/ichp is what they require. the mandatory ce is different and only be needed upon license renewal.

yes. together with the application and fingerprint card which they will send you thru mail free of charge if you write or email them the request.

You may contact your local enforcement agency ask them if they have the FD-258 fingerprint card. I did mine in my local department of motor vehicle with a $5 fee.

Check www.cebroker.com for the mandatory CE.:)
