Anyone else in the flexpath MSN? If so what do you think of it so far and any tips?

Is Flexpath the name of a university?

No, Capella is the University

I'm always curious why people choose the programs they do. What made you choose Capella for your MSN vs. another school?

Accreditation and format working with my schedule

I'm in Capella University's Flexpath program, specifically the Nurse Educator pathway. I started in August 2017 and yes, it is self-paced. I typically complete one assignment a week, taking the time to research the given topic and develop my paper or project. I've sped up and slowed down my Flexpath program to meet whatever my life has going on at the moment.

Personally, I have two small children, ages 5 & 7 and I love that I can schedule this program around "real life." I can do less around holidays and speed up when's the kids are in school.

I'm a (volunteer/don't get paid) Capella Ambassador for the school. Enrollment advisors can set you up to visit with one of us in the program right now to tell you more about it. When I was looking at the program, I looked for someone with inside info but it was brand new this past July so I was out of luck! I volunteer as an Ambassador because I know how important it is to make sure the program will fit what you need before signing up.

Good luck! Hope this helps. :)

I tried to reply to your message but the allnurses website indicated I cannot since I have not been an active member. We do have a Facebook group, however. It's called "Capella University MSN Flexpath Students."

I was really disappointed about the messaging, it declined my message AFTER I had typed out this long discussion!

Hi Stellababy, BSN - I am currently in Capella's MSN FlexPath program and I really enjoy it. I completed by BSN with the FlexPath format and found it to be very accommodating and very doable. I started the BSN program in July 2016 and finished in September 2017, but you'll have to bear in mind that I work 50+ hours a week and had a critically-ill Mother for almost half my program. It was a very stressful year but not because of my BSN program. I must say that if not for the FlexPath set-up, I would not have made it. Capella is a wonderful University. They are helpful and professional. I've seen some bad remarks but I also know that self-paced learning is not for everyone. You have to be self-directed and self-motivated and some will not be. I enjoy it and think you will too.
