Hi Peachgirl. What you describe may be a serious disorder of your retina (the light-sensitive tissue which lines the back portion of the eye). If untreated, this can lead to blindness. We at AllNurses cannot give medical advice, as this is outside of our scope. This doesn't mean we don't care. Please make an appointment to see your medical provider or a qualified ophthalmologist ASAP.

I'm no RN or anything, I'm just a CNA. I need an answer Every once in awhile, my left eye starts to get a flashing light that starts @ the outer left corner and I guess you could say quote/unquote, radiates across my eye and almost blinds me. I guess a lil' scared when this hapends. I no longer have high bp because I am finally of medication for it so that my bp is now down to 130/80 for the past year and I am not under ANY stress @ all. What could be causing this?
