I am currently a CNA in Florida, I will be moving to NC to be with my mother. Does anyone know if my certificate is reciprocal or do I have to take another course or exam?
Once I am settled in NC, I will be taken other classes to further my future in Nursing.
Thanks for any help I can receive.

no, you will not need to take another exam. just go to the nc board of nursing website and download the steps for endorsement and application for your type of certificate needed.

Hi Normaneon, and welcome to Allnurses and the North Carolina nursing forum :balloons:
For information about Nurse Aide I and Nurse Aide II certificates (not license) in North Carolina, you will need to contact both the NC Board of Nursing http://www.ncbon.com/prac-naiirules.asp#21-36.0404 and the NC Division of Facility Services http://facility-services.state.nc.us/floaide1.htm
A listing with both agencies is required.
For a Nurse Aide I certificate:
2.0 Listing by Reciprocity 2.1 An aide who wishes to be listed on the N.C. Nurse Aide Registry through reciprocity from another state contacts the N.C. Health Care Personnel Registry Section. (919) 733-85002.2 On behalf of the individual, the Section contacts the other state to obtain registry verification. 2.3 Upon receiving confirmation that the individual is listed in good standing on the other state registry and is in compliance with federal regulation, the Section lists the individual on the NC Nurse Aide I Registry and notifies the aide of the listing by letter. Included with this notification are the requirements and responsibilities for maintaining registry listing.

Call this number (at the NCBON) for clarification as to whether it is possible to transfer a Nurse Aide II certificate from Fl to NC: (919) 782-7499
Hope this helps! :)
