Hi all!
Planning on applying to FIU's Family MSN program now in August 2011. I'm aware of the various steps/requirements that must be completed. Was wondering if anyone has tips on the essay part of the application. Also, for any current students, how is the program going for you?
Thanks for all your help in advance
Ali :)

I would think three times before starting this program.
The grade points needed to pass are exceptionally high (I believe either 83 or 86%).
Also, the classes are frequently full (which could cause you to get held back a year if you don't get into the class in the proper sequence).
You may have a difficult time finding a preceptor if you even make it to the "clinical" part of the program.
Additionally, there is an article written that this institution is known for grade deflation.
Really? Did you attend this program or know someone who did? This past Tuesday I attended an information session they held and it looks pretty tough just to get accepted, so I'm a little bummed out. They never mentioned any of the points you posted! I'm concerned now, honestly. If you have more info, please don't hesitate to post!
I'd like to read the article that you mentioned... If you can, send me the name or link of it.
I'm also applying to FAU's MSN program, just in case. Do you happen to know anything about it? I'd appreciate it!
Thanks for replying, hope to hear from you again!
