CA Endorsement - Temp License Processing Time Frame

Hello,

I have just received my Illinois RN License today (Where I finished my BSN program). However, I live in Southern California and just submitted my application/LiveScan Form with my 2X2 passport picture via BrEZe. I submitted everything online including my payment of $100.00 for the application and $50.00 for the temporary license and I was wondering how long it takes for the temporary license to be received?

I also verified my license through nursys today as well. I've been out here in California, living with my family since December and I am currently unemployed. I am going crazy out here waiting for all of my information to be processed - I guess I am just looking for some good news. I'm seeing from other posts on here that it was taking people 12-16 WEEKS to receive their temporary license and in some cases, people were receiving their permanent licenses even BEFORE their temporary one! I know to check the CA board of Nursing website to see which applications they are now currently processing, but their temporary application says they are only now processing applications sent to them in November? I am wondering if I should just move back out to Illinois - where I can at least work. My friend lives in Illinois but got endorsed in Indiana and it took here 3 days.. How can it take 3 days for some states and 16 weeks for others?

Can someone tell me a good story - share a happy situation where they submitted their application and 72 hours later they had their temp. license? I have two job offers and they call every day to check and see if my license is in it. I'm afraid one of these days they'll stop calling... :nailbiting:

California has a notoriously slow licensing processing time. The project times are right on the BON website. I got my RN and NP temporary and permanent licenses right on schedule. The temp RN license should take 6 to 8 weeks - check the BON website for the current processing times. Unless you are okay with not working as an RN for several weeks, then it is best to have your California RN license in hand before moving here. Good luck!

Thank you!

I've been checking like crazy - but I must stop.. They have lengthed the processing time from 6-8 weeks when I started back in Feb, to 8-10 weeks just a couple weeks ago.. They are just now processing early Jan and they have been on it for 2 weeks..

I had another question - was wondering if this happens with everyone..

I checked back on my BreEze account today and I have always had 1 drop down bar under the application status area = my original application submitted 02/13/2018.. But now I have two drop down bars. My original that is titled "RN Endorsement" and now a second one that reads, "RN Endorsement w/ Temporary License" and when I click on that it says that is was submitted 03/14/2018 (yesterday)! Does that mean they are just now allowing my Temp License request be submitted? Will I have to wait until the Temp Licenses are processing March applications to get issued my temp as opposed to my original submission date of 02/13/2018?

Do you know of anyone(or yourself) this happened to? :nailbiting:

Thanks!

So just FYI they told me that my temp license wasn't processed because its 100 for the app, 50 for fingerprints, and ANOTHER 50 for a temp...

they forgot to mention that and I'm 6 months into this process now.

hey so i just received my temp rn license from CBRN. I applied May 5th and received it June 7th, like 4 weeks earlier than the website stated. I requested the fingerprint cards before submiting the apps. once i received cards (4-5 days), i got fingerprinted, mailed them off, submitted permanent and temp applications through breeze along with payments, paid the nursys verification and requested electronic school transcripts all on the same day. So i think if you turn in everything all at once you have a better chance of getting it faster, and so now i dont care how much longer it takes to get the perm cuz i have 6 months
