First time travel to Hackensack assignment.

Hi,

This is going to be my 1st travel assignment. Any thought on Hackensack University Medical center ? I had an offer without an interview since agency mentioned it was becoz they have direct relationship with the hospital. I wonder what the nurse patient ratio will be ( agency said per manager , 1:4-5) but I heard north Jersey hospital usually 1 nurse to 7-8 pts. I never handled anything more than 6 pts . I think 7 would be unsafe practice . Already accepted an offer but been worried bout the patient load . I don't wanna take the risk .

It's definitely more than 1:5 if you're not a new grad. Average is 1:6-7, but can be as high as 9 depending on the day.

You traveled there before? How was the work culture for you? Do you have good support system?

I'm here now as a traveler. My coworkers are great for the most part, but the way admin expects us to take everything thrown at us without regard to capacity is ridiculous. I'm actually waiting to talk to mgmt right now to discuss my concerns.
