Hi
I start my first semester of nursing school in August. I got the book list today and I was wondering if there are any I definitely need to buy or if I can rent them all from Amazon. Thank you!

If prerequisites, consider renting. For the actual nursing program, own might be best. Check with your school for what book(s) are used for the entire program.
Thank you! I poked around the general nursing forums after I posted and that seems to be the consensus.

For all your foundation nursing classes, I would recommend purchasing the books, like Pharm, Fundamentals, Health Assessment and Patho. I referenced these quite a bit throughout school so they are good to keep.

I agree! And also med surg you should buy, you'll be using that book for a while.
When you you start your future semesters like OB/peds you can rent it.

Agree with everyone else about buying, especially MedSurg and Pharm, and *especially* especially if you're a highlighter/underliner type.
Also, with technology always evolving, your books may, like mine did, come with digital copies and supplemental goodies that renting won't give you access to, some of which were actually part of the required class materials for me.
So yes, TL;DR: buy, don't rent. And good luck! :)
