First job in LTC. What to expect my first day?

Published

Hi everyone!

I recently got hired into a LTC facility and I have orientation next Tuesday and Wednesday!

This will be my first CNA job. I'm excited, but really anxious to find out what I will actually be doing and what I will be dealing with. I'm curious about the routine and if it's hard to memorize?

I definitely expect the first couple weeks to be hard and stressful but I'm hoping things will get better as I go.

I'm curious about my first day of training! I'm typically slower than most and I like to take my time... I'm also scared that there will be too much information and that I wont take it all in like I'm supposed to..

I'm scared that I wont follow the routine as I should and end up looking stupid.

I basically just want to know what to expect the first day/week and month. And also what to expect in orientation?

based on past experience of course.

(sorry for all the questions!...) I guess i'm just a little nervous..

Thanks! :)
