Fingerprinting for FLorida (application through endorsement)

Published

I am a non resident of Florida. I am in Canada… I wanted to have my electronic fingerprinting done to get license in FLorida State. I wouldn't need to travel to FLorida to have this done, or do I ?

I went to a website Florida Fingerprinting Services & FDLE Background Investigation Checks | National Background Check. which cost 79$ for the scanning registration form then the instructions were pretty straightforward except I don't know this ORI. How do I get an ORI# in order for me to process my license application through endorsement at Florida State?

I am licensed at New MExico, I hope somebody helps me..

AS i was reading comments/info in our ALL NURSES site, I also tried to go to morphotrust website, which i don't know if the rest of the procedure from morphotrust website requires my presence to come at Florida?

I also checked the website of nationalfingerprintinc but their cost of the whole processing held me back, about 299$.

I need your advise. I am so confused about which is the right way to begin the process...

Thanks so much.

Mademoiselle

On the Florida BON site they have a link (hard to find) to LiveScan providers in other states that will be closer to you. Those providers will know how to send it electronically.

Also on the BON site are instructions on how to send fingerprint cards as a last resort. You will need a standard in the U.S. FD-258 card. If this gets sent directly to the Florida DOJ you will need to put the ORI number on it. If you mail it to the BON they should know their own ORI number!

A call to confirm anything you don't understand is always best.

Thanks so much NEdRN. Your info did help and

Yup. I finally figured out, the application of license by endorsement is not a quick step. the ORI # of Florida board of Nursing was EDOH4420Z.. then I was able to proceed with the electronic fingerprinting as an out of state..

Hello

Im in the process of filling up my fingerprint card, applying for examination florida bon.

included in the fingerprint cards that the fl bon sent me was an instruction form, and in the part where it needs the SSN,since.im not yet qualified to get one,i can use other official government identification(does not need to be the U.S government),does that mean i can use my tax identification number issued to me here in the philippines?

Thanks in advance

Nope, you have to have a SSN first. There may be one or two states left not requiring a SSN to get a licence. If you get a licence in those states and get a sponsored job, you can then get your SSN and get a license in other states. Search Allnurses for Canadians getting licenses. There are several threads with detailed instructions.

Hi mademoiselle! I'm also from Canada. I just would like to know if you were able to do your electronic fingerprinting with success through Florida Fingerprinting Services & FDLE Background Investigation Checks/National Background Check. Did you use their fingerprint card or did you use the FBI (FD-258) fingerprint cards at your local police department or law enforcement agency? How long was the processing and how long did it take for Florida BON to grant your license? I've seen that there are some agencies here in Canada who do an electronic fingerprinting. I'm just wondering if Florida BON will accept LiveScan fingerprinting from them. Thank you in advance for your time and I would really appreciate it if you can share with me some ideas.
