Finding a college! I need a plan!

Published

I am at Elgin Community College in Elgin, Illinois right now in my second semester. I've taken chemistry, biology, english 101, sociology, intro to biology, intro to chemistry, and psychology. I need to apply for the nursing program for this spring 2009 because I've already missed the deadline for fall 2008. They only accept 40 people for spring rather than the 80 they accept for the fall. I dont know if I'll be able to get in. I need a plan because I need to be in a program by spring 2009. I don't know what colleges I can even get into if I don't get accepted to Elgin's program. I have a 22 on my ACT and a 2.85 GPA. I got a 81 on the NCLEX exam. So I am very worried I won't get into the program. I was wondering if I got my CNA if it would maybe do anything to help me get into a program, I'm not sure if it would transfer if I needed to transfer to another school. I really need help and I have many questions. What should I do?

Hi, I see your problem. How flexable are you? Can you move to another school (college) district, like DuPage or Waubonsee and try there? And what do you mean by saying you took NCLEX? Are you going to become a nursing student or already are? NCLEX is taken after two years of nursing programm, either PN or RN. Good luck.
