Hi all,
I just feel like a bit of a nervous wreck. At the end of this month (October), I will find out whether or not I get into clinicals for January. I started prerequisites in Spring of 2014 and thought clinicals were always so far away in the distance...and well now it's the moment of truth lol. I've got a prerequisite GPA of a 3.68 and scored an 86.7% on the TEAS. I got an A- in both A&P I and II, but the nursing program at my school is competitive so I am right at the cut off for seats in the Spring program. I know I've done all that I can do and I'm happy with how I've done so far, so I guess I would appreciate happy thoughts, positive energy, prayers and luck....I know I still have a long road ahead of me and I am excited for this journey. Thank you, and have a good day!

Are you in the nursing program? I'm wondering why you're unsure of starting clinicals specifically in Spring. Usually people post about not getting into the nursing program, not clinicals.
Sorry, I've completed all my prerequisites and I am registered as a General Studies major with a Nursing Advisement track...but at my college getting a seat for clinicals is competitive. Not sure if that makes sense or if it just works different at other colleges. Once I am registered for my nursing clinicals is when I can declare myself a Nursing major and right now I am waiting to receive a letter letting me know whether or not I have a seat for clinicals this spring. Sorry if I wasn't clear earlier:-) also love the Ron Swanson picture
Who's Ron Swanson? This is how I look IRL.
That's unique. I've never heard of a program that does that. Is it a BSN or ADN program?
It is an ADN program. The school is Dutchess Community College in Poughkeepsie, NY
And yes, compared to other schools I've looked at the way this school does things is a bit different...
Interesting. Well, good luck! I know the wait is always nerve-wracking.
Thank you so much!!

Hi!
My CC's nursing program has the same procedure. Until I petitioned (and was accepted) for clinicals, I was considered a General Studies major. Once all pre/co-reqs are complete, applicants are assigned points (e.g. A-8, B-4). Those with the highest points are offered seats for the next cohort (60 total each semester).
Best of luck to you!! :)
