I was reading online for NSCC and SSCC that they dont offer federal loans like the Stafford. So what do people do if they need a loan.Im going to have to quit my job to go to nursing school.
Any advice please

Hi! That was my problem too with those schools. I think that the rest of the schools in the region that offer nursing participate with Stafford loans. I am applying at Shoreline and Everett for their RN program. Check them out!!

I was worried about NSCC not having enough aid to go around, but I just got my award letter and in addition to Perkins Loans they offer tuition waivers (basically a grant). My award is enough to cover tuition and supplies.
i was just wondering if you work, otherwise how did you qualify for a Perkins Loan and grants.Right now I work and didnt qualify for anything
I don't know why I was offered what I was--I do work full time but make a bit less than the median salary for Seattle and will stop working once I get into a program. I also took all my pre-reqs at NSCC and got good grades, so maybe the tuition waiver was partially merit-based? If I were you, I would talk to their financial aid office and see what they can do.
